Examinations in the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance are offered but are not compulsory. Working towards an assessment is an individual choice and our priority is that all students enjoy their dancing first and foremost.
Exams can be a wonderful goal to work towards for those who are keen and we ensure that our exam days are always an exciting occasion and a positive experience for the children.
To find out more about the Royal Academy of Dance:
We hold 2 main performance events each year.
Our Choreography Showcase in June and
our School Concert in November/December.
The Choreography Showcase gives students who wish to take part, a chance to perform their own piece on stage in front of our warm and wonderful community of families.
The Concerts are original stories, designed to highlight our students' skills and include all school-aged children. Costumes are purchased and kept by families and the use of projections and props create a fantastic setting for students to experience the magic of a live theatre.
We hire The Phoenix Theatre in Elwood for both events.
Our uniform is encouraged for preschool
classes and is a requirement for all school-aged classes.
The local dancewear shop, Capezio, have been our stockists since 2014 and will be happy to help you.
Capezio, 296 Glenhuntly Rd, Elsternwick
Long hair must be tied back for all classes
and we love buns for ballet! Students from
approx. 8 yrs are taught how to place their hair in a bun and are encouraged to learn to do this independently as part of their ballet training.
